Purple horseshoes; red balloons; blue half-moons; orange and white shooting stars; yellow and orange pots of gold; pink, yellow, and blue rainbows; two-tone green leprechaun hats; pink hearts and green clovers (copyright General Mills) … does this ring a bell? Think leprechaun… how about green? Yes people, St. Patrick’s Day is on its way. Although we don’t get a day off work, we can all pretend we are Irish on March 17. So, dress yourself up in green, grab a green beer (or tea) and may the luck of the Irish enfold you.


Did you watch any of the Olympics last month? What an incredible couple of weeks. I think it’s great that our athletes did so well. We showed the world our beautiful country and friendly people. As well, this event brought Canadians together.


From Olympic gold to golden rings. Local Master Goldsmith, Ron Murray, is the focus of our feature story this month. This unique man has many tales of his life, career and experiences. His trade took him to numerous places and a change of career led him to love.


Creston & District Museum & Archives sent us a hilarious story about a couple of pilots who were forced to land their plane in Creston while en route to Victoria.


Did you know that a Canadian Youth Hostel in the Creston area was the only one in the BC interior? This is true and we’ll give you the goods.


Another look at history in this issue. The Seventh Siding Trackers give us a peek at Creston Valley By Rail, a model railway project that replicates how this area looked in 1945-55.
